Rayan selected for Brazil at World Cup

AFC Bournemouth forward Rayan has been named in Brazil’s squad for the FIFA World Cup. The nineteen-year-old earned his place after an impressive start at Bournemouth, scoring five goals and providing two assists in thirteen Premier League appearances since joining from Vasco da Gama in January. His performances also brought a first senior Brazil appearance in April, when he came off the bench during a friendly against Croatia, adding to previous experience with the under-seventeen and under-twenty national sides. The World Cup gets underway later this year

BU students visit AFCB training base

Bournemouth University students have been given access to AFC Bournemouth’s training facilities. The master’s students toured the performance centre, seeing indoor pitches, medical areas and learning spaces used by the club’s teams for training and development. The visit was hosted by Steve Fletcher, who said it is always a pleasure to welcome students and give them a closer look at how the club operates behind the scenes. They also met players and staff, gaining insight into how a Premier League club operates day to day.

Marco Rose to become Cherries head coach

AFC Bournemouth have confirmed Marco Rose as their new head coach on a three year contract. He will begin the role after the end of the twenty twenty five to twenty twenty six season. The forty nine year old joins with experience from clubs including Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig. The club says its focus remains on finishing the current campaign strongly during a thirteen game unbeaten run.
