About AFCB.uk

AFCB.uk is a personal, independent and non-commercial AFC Bournemouth supporter project. Its first working version was built over five intensive days as a personal web-development challenge and it is maintained voluntarily in the operator's spare time.

1. The project

AFCB.uk began as a personal challenge to design and build a useful supporter website within five days. The project was created for learning, experimentation and general supporter interest rather than as a commercial product or business service.

It continues to be developed and maintained voluntarily. Features may be changed, temporarily unavailable or removed as the project evolves and as the operator's available time permits.

2. Independent status

AFCB.uk is unofficial and independent. It is not owned, operated, sponsored, approved or endorsed by AFC Bournemouth, the Premier League, the Football Association, UEFA, FIFA or any competition organiser.

Club names, badges, competition names and related trade marks belong to their respective owners. The official AFC Bournemouth website is available at afcb.co.uk.

3. Purpose and features

The site brings together supporter-oriented information such as fixtures, results, league standings, matchday guidance, transport information, maps, weather, away guides and links to approved original news and video publishers.

AFCB.uk is intended as a convenient informational resource. Time-sensitive details should always be confirmed with the club, competition organiser, venue, ticket issuer, transport operator or other relevant official source before making plans.

4. Non-commercial operation

AFCB.uk does not currently charge for access, sell tickets, operate paid memberships, sell merchandise, take bookings or provide paid supporter services. It does not maintain public supporter, customer or member accounts.

The project is not presented as part of the operator's employment or self-employed commercial work. If the way the project is funded or operated materially changes, the relevant public information and legal notices will be updated.

5. Information, corrections and external sources

Information may come from public data feeds, APIs, approved publishers and manual editorial entries. Despite reasonable care, information can be delayed, incomplete or incorrect.

To report a factual error, broken link, attribution concern or inaccessible feature, email info@afcb.uk with the affected page address and a clear description of the issue. News cards and external links lead to the original publisher, whose content remains under that publisher's control.

6. Acknowledgements

Although AFCB.uk is a personal project, it could not exist in its current form without the work of thousands of people who create and maintain open-source software, open-data platforms and publicly accessible APIs.

My sincere thanks go to Linus Torvalds and the Linux kernel contributors, the Ubuntu community, and the wider free-software community. Their work provides the foundation on which this project is developed and operated.

The website is built with open-source technologies including:

  • PHP;
  • Laravel;
  • Vue.js;
  • Inertia.js;
  • Vite;
  • Tailwind CSS;
  • Leaflet.

The project also benefits from open data and accessible API services provided by OpenStreetMap contributors, Overpass API, Open-Meteo, football-data.org, Highlightly, Wikimedia, YouTube Data API, Transport for London Open Data, NaPTAN, Bus Open Data Service, National Rail, and Street Manager. Some of these services are open source or based on open data, while others provide accessible or free-tier APIs subject to their own licences, quotas and terms.

Thanks to these people, communities and organisations, AFCB.uk can remain free for visitors without relying on paid memberships, intrusive advertising banners, behavioural advertising, hidden tracking pixels or the sale of visitor data.

AFCB.uk does not deliberately use covert tracking or build advertising profiles. A visitor's browser may still exchange standard technical information with external services when their content is requested, as explained in the Privacy Notice.

Personal thanks

Finally, I would like to thank my family for giving me the time, space, encouragement and understanding to develop my interests and become fully involved in projects like this one. Their patience and support helped make this challenge possible.

To every developer, maintainer, contributor, public-sector team, data provider and family member whose work or support helped make this project possible: thank you.

7. Security reports

Potential security vulnerabilities should be reported privately to info@afcb.uk. Include the affected URL or feature, reproducible steps, the observed impact and any relevant screenshots or request details that do not contain unnecessary personal data.

When investigating the site, please:

  • do not access, alter or retain information that does not belong to you;
  • do not disrupt availability, use social engineering or send high-volume automated traffic;
  • stop testing and report the issue if sensitive information becomes accessible;
  • allow reasonable time for investigation and correction before public disclosure.

This personal project does not operate a paid bug-bounty programme. The standard machine-readable security contact is published at /.well-known/security.txt.

8. Contact and further information

General questions about the project can be sent to info@afcb.uk. Please do not send passwords, recovery codes, payment information or other sensitive personal data.

More detailed information is available in the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Notice.
